About WoodAsh

This database contains information on chemical composition of ashes formed during combustion of biofuels from tree compartments. The aim of the database is to provide information about levels and variation in ash composition in different ash types.

The database can be used to calculate the probable contents of elements in a specific ash type or can be used as a reference when the quality of a certain ash needs to be controlled. In the database you can also find general information about wood ash recycling and related subjects as combustion technologies, ash types, ash preparation etc. The database was developed as part of the project Wood-En-Man financed through the European Commission.

Erik Karltun, scientist at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences is currently in charge of the Wood ash database project.
